Hello again,<\/p>\n

As the title suggests I made a trip to the Monkey Forest Park in the middle of Ubud. I started from my accommodation and walked to the Monkey Forest Road. (From the main road ‚Raya Ubud‘ it takes about 15 minutes to get to the destination.) The closer I got to the park, the more pictures and videos from Facebook started spinning around in my head.
\nFrom monkeys stealing your sunglasses. Your mobile phone, camera or anything else which is not safe. So, as you can imagine, I felt a little nervous. (But this time I had prepared for the trip (not like the Hidden Canyon trip) & stowed all the loose things in my pocket.)<\/p>\n

On the last few hundred meters, the first monkeys crossed my way and hopped across the small streets from roof to roof. When I arrived at the park, I met a Swiss couple (whom I had met in Byron Bay) and we went together to the entrance. (Tickets cost 50,000IDR that’s about 3\u20ac) At the entrance and in the park itself there are some signs with rules to follow on them.<\/p>\n

Rules:<\/p>\n

1. No eye contact with the monkeys (this is more difficult than you think!): D)<\/p>\n

2. Do not touch monkeys. But monkeys are allowed to touch you or climb on you. (They will try to open your backpack and steal things out of it. And don’t forget: No eye contact with them while you’re trying to save your stuff!)<\/p>\n

3. When monkeys approach you, do not panic or scream. (Which of course many tourists do not respect)<\/p>\n

4. Do not get too close to the monkey babies. Otherwise their mom or dad will come and make you realize you’re making a mistake. (The babies were, by the way, adorable.)
\nAnd have I already mentioned that there are over 700 monkeys .. they are really everywhere! Even the babies!<\/p>\n

There are 5 different groups in the park. Each group has its own area, and when this area is entered by an intruder, there can be a lot of trouble.<\/p>\n

The park itself is very nice and worth seeing. You’re in the middle of the jungle and I felt partly like Mogli. \u00a0There are different temples. Stone bridges and moss-grown stone figures. A small stream also flows through in the middle.
\nNegative point: The Monkey Forest is really an extreme tourist magnet and sometimes you need to pass the monkeys in a row of tourists. In spite of everything, I would not want to miss it. It belongs to the typical Bali and Ubud experience.<\/p>\n

wie die \u00dcberschrift glaube ich schon ver\u00e4t habe ich einen Abstecher in den Monkey Forest Park in mitten von Ubud gemacht. Ich startete also bei meiner Unterkunft und lief Richtung Monkey Forest Road. (Von der Hauptstra\u00dfe ‚Raya Ubud‘ l\u00e4uft man in etwa 15 Minuten bis zum Ziel.) Umso n\u00e4her ich Richtung Park kam, desto mehr Bilder und Videos aus Facebook spukten in meinem Kopf herum.<\/p>\n

Von Affen die deine Sonnenbrille klauen. Dein Handy, Kamera oder sonst alles was nicht Niet&Nagelfest ist. Mir wurde also, wie ihr euch schon denken k\u00f6nnt, etwas mulmig. \ud83d\ude00 (Ich hatte mich f\u00fcr diesen Ausflug aber nat\u00fcrlich etwas besser vorbereitet (nicht wie beim Hidden Canyon – Trip) & hatte alle losen Dinge in meiner Tasche verstaut.)<\/p>\n

Auf den letzten paar Hundert Meters kamen mir dann auch schon die ersten Affen entgegen bzw h\u00fcpften von Welldach zu Welldach \u00fcber die kleinen Stra\u00dfenst\u00e4nde hinweg. Am Park angekommen, traf ich mich mit einem Schweizer P\u00e4rchen (welches ich in Byron Bay kennen gelernt hatte) und wir gingen zusammen zum Eingang. (Tickets kosten 50.000IDR in etwa 3\u20ac) Am Eingang und im Park selbst wird man mit Schildern darauf hingewiesen wie man sich den Affen gegen\u00fcber verhalten soll.<\/p>\n

Regeln:<\/p>\n

1. Kein Blickkontakt mit den Affen (ist schwieriger als ihr denkt! :D)<\/p>\n

2. Keine Affen anfassen. Die Affen d\u00fcrfen aber dich anfassen bzw an dir herumklettern. (…um dann ziemlich frech deinen Rucksack zu \u00f6ffnen& versuchen Sachen zu klauen. Und denkt dran, KEIN Blickkontakt! :D)<\/p>\n

3. Wenn sich dir Affen n\u00e4hern, nicht panisch werden oder herumschreien. (Woran sich nat\u00fcrlich viele Touristen nicht gehalten haben)<\/p>\n

4. Den Affenbabies nicht zu nahe kommen. Sonst kommt Mama oder Papa und macht dir klar, dass du gerade einen Fehler machst. (Die Babies waren \u00fcbrigens zuckers\u00fc\u00df. 😍)<\/p>\n

Habe ich schon erw\u00e4hnt dass es dort \u00fcber 700 Affen gibt.. sie sind wirklich \u00fcberall! Insgesamt gibt es 5 verschiedene Gruppen im Park. Jede Gruppe hat sein eigenes Revier und wenn dieses Revier von einer anderen Gruppe betreten wird, kann es auch mal ziemlich \u00c4rger untereinander geben.<\/p>\n

Der Park selbst ist wirklich sehr sch\u00f6n und sehenswert. Man ist mitten im dschungelartigen Wald und ich f\u00fchlte mich teilweise wie Mogli. Es gibt verschiedene Tempel. Steinbr\u00fccken und \u00fcberall mossbewachsene Steinfiguren. Ein kleiner Bach flie\u00dft ebenfalls mitten durch.<\/p>\n

Negativer Punkt. Der Monkey Forest ist wirklich ein extremer Touristenmagnet und teilweise schl\u00e4ngelt man sich in einer Reihe an den Affen vorbei. Trotz allem w\u00fcrde ich es nicht missen wollen, da es f\u00fcr mich einfach zur Ubud und Balierfahrung dazu geh\u00f6rt. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
